Evil-Corporations.com uses press releases, legal documents, and on-the-ground reporting to uncover and detail corporate misconduct. Press releases help identify inconsistencies and corporate spins, while legal documents provide concrete evidence of wrongdoing through regulatory fines and legal actions. On-the-ground reporting adds context by showing the direct impacts on communities. Together, these sources enable the site to provide well-rounded and factual stories of corporate malfeasance.
You will find either links to the original sources or PDFs of legal documents at the bottom of all of our posts.
Legal Documents
Our documentation section offers a thorough collection of legal documents that support all most cases of corporate misconduct. Here, you will find court filings, regulatory reports, and other critical legal materials that substantiate our findings.
Evil-Corporations.com primarily focuses on 5 types of corporate misconduct:
Data Breach & Privacy Violations
I recently found out that my social security number and bank account information has been bought and sold multiple times on the sp00ky dark web. This miffs me.
This category is for the improper handling of customer or employee data can lead to breaches, exposing sensitive information and violating privacy laws.
Environmental Violations
Environmental violations include the improper disposal of waste, emissions of toxic substances, and illegal exploitation of natural resources. These practices can lead to significant environmental damage, including pollution of air and water, destruction of habitats, and loss of biodiversity. The repercussions are long-lasting, affecting the health of local communities, reducing the quality of natural resources, and contributing to global environmental crises like climate change.
The majority of the cases we cover on this evil-corporations will be environmental violations, since I used to have a decently sized YouTube channel where I talked about environmental pollution and there’s a pretty big backlog of old videos I can turn into articles here.
Financial Fraud
Financial fraud includes activities like embezzlement, insider trading, and accounting fraud, inflicts substantial harm on society. It distorts the transparency and efficiency of financial markets, leading investors and regulators to make decisions based on false information, which can destabilize entire economic systems. The direct victims of financial fraud—ranging from individual investors to large corporations—can face devastating financial losses, potentially wiping out life savings or crippling business operations.
For the purposes of being awesome, we’ve decided to put corruption, bribery, financial misconduct, and anti-trust violations under the “Financial Fraud” umbrella.
Labor & Employment
Labor violations include unsafe working conditions, unfair wages, and exploitation of workers, leading to physical and psychological harm. These violations can cause severe injuries, chronic health issues, and even death to the workers. Furthermore, by undermining fair labor practices, these violations contribute to economic disparities, perpetuating cycles of poverty and social instability.
I’ve personally had fairly bad luck in employers, so this one is a bit personal for me.
Product Safety Violations
Product safety violations occur when companies manufacture and sell goods that are dangerous or fail to meet safety standards. These products can cause harm or injury to consumers, leading to loss of life or serious health issues.
Most class action lawsuits are product safety in nature. So if you want to hurt corporations in their money books, then you might want to consider joining class action lawsuits against them when they occur. Will you make it rich? No, but it’s still some meager financial benefit that you wouldn’t otherwise get.
